We’d like to take a minute to thank all the people who helped with the effort to pass Issue 3 (the Tax Increase/Credit ballot).
It was a city wide effort starting with the folks at city hall that worked on the ballot the first time, morphing into the Tax Relief Informational Committee chaired by Paul Yupa with members including Matt Bross, Kevin Grimm, Rick Madden and Tom Seamon and the many residents of the city serving in whatever capacity was needed.
Thanks goes out to the individuals from the Service, Police and Firefighters Unions who attended the meetings to give input and walked the neighborhoods to talk to the residents.
Thanks to people like John Kuklisin who headed up the volunteers who walked the neighborhoods and stood at the polls to answer questions or to people like Vange Makar who lent a hand by attending home owners’ meetings and going to the Senior Center to explain how the change would work and to people like Amy Flake who works at City hall, is not a resident but still gave of her own time.
Thanks to all of Council.
The list goes on and on so thanks to any and all who worked with us that we have unintentionally missed.
And a huge thank you to the voters for passing this issue!
We will do our best to make sure we use it wisely.
As a side note… the increase/credit went into effect May 28, 2009. RITA is sending letters out to businesses and residents explaining the process.
What does Issue 3 mean to you as a Streetsboro resident?
