Mobile Food Truck Inspection Information
Mobile Food Truck Inspection Information
Do you own a mobile food truck/ trailer or intend to hire one for a private event? Streetsboro Fire Department requires an annual inspection on all mobile food units operating within the City of Streetsboro in order to ensure safe operations to the staff and the public. Even if there are no cooking operations being conducted with the unit, a fire inspection is still required.
The process only takes a few minutes and each passing inspection is good for the entire calendar year. Although there may be cost associated with obtaining a permit for operating a mobile food unit at some venues, there is no charge for this fire inspection.
For more information on our requirements, please contact our Fire Prevention & Investigations Bureau at 330-626-4664 or email us at fireprevention@streetsborofire.com
Inspections begin after New Year’s Day. Contact the Fire Prevention and Investigations Bureau for availability.
Food truck operations during the first seven days of the year may be inspected prior to the beginning of the new year provided:
- Confirmation on date, time, and location of event within the first seven days of the new year is sent to the Fire Prevention Bureau;
- Inspection is scheduled and conducted between December 1 & December 21 of the previous year (December inspection for January 1-7 operation).
Food truck inspections are generally scheduled between 7:30AM and 1:30PM weekdays. Consideration is provided for special events and circumstances on an individual basis. No food truck shall operate within the City of Streetsboro without a valid current calendar year inspection certificate.
Mobile food units operating at non-city sponsored events are also required to obtain a current vendor's permit from the Streetsboro Police Department. Call SPD at 330-626-4976 for more information.
